Is Your Home Ready for the Fall?
The leaves are starting to change, kids are back at school, and football is ruling your Sunday afternoons again. That can only mean one thing: cold weather is approaching! Don’t be distracted by the beautiful autumn weather, now is the time to prepare your home and protect your comfort and costs this winter.
Your friends at Southside Fuel are working hard to prepare our technicians for the cold weather ahead, but we also want to remind you of steps you can take to prepare for fall and winter.
3 Tips to Prepare You for Fall!
- Schedule a tune-up: If you did not schedule your tune-up in the spring or summer, it is vitally important that you schedule it now before the heating season begins. Over the busy winter, your equipment can collect soot and dirt. A tune-up will clean, test, and examine important parts of your heating equipment to increase efficiency.
- Seal doors and windows: Late summer and early fall are great times to check around your doors and windows for gaps and drafts. Drafty homes waste huge amounts of energy and raise your energy costs for no reason! If you do not want to pay to heat the whole neighborhood this winter, make sure you take the time to seal your doors and windows.
- Schedule an equipment upgrade: If you noticed an unexplained increase in fuel costs last year or required more than your fair share of repairs, it could be time for a new system. New heating equipment is highly efficient and can reduce your energy costs in addition to improving your comfort.
At Southside Fuel, we know how to keep you comfortable, and making proper preparations now can make a world of difference. Contact us and schedule your heating oil delivery or service before the weather starts to turn.
